This study investigated capacity building and facilitators’ job performance in open and distance learning programme in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education. Three objectives, three research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. The correlational research design was adopted with a population of 83 facilitators from Faculty of Education in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education. The entire population was used as sample which infers census sampling technique. Two different questionnaires titled: “Capacity Building Questionnaire†and “Facilitators’ Job Performance Questionnaire†were used to elicit responses. It was validated by experts and had reliability coefficients of 0.84, 0.86, 0.87 and 0.82 respectively using Cronbach Alpha statistics. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMCC) or “r†was used to answer the research questions while the hypotheses were tested using t-transformation at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that there was a high and positive relationship between capacity building in ICT competence, communication skills and andragogical knowledge and facilitators’ job performance in open and distance learning programme in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education. The researchers recommended among others that University authority should continue to provide chances for facilitators to be trained in ICT related courses to enhance their job performance in open and distance learning programme.
